The 'Socials' is an opportunity where individuals who have been affected by mental illness can gain emotional support from others who have 'been there'. It is an opportunity to connect, socialize, and enjoy an evening in the community. The group is facilitated by peers who themselves have also experienced mental health issues. Socials started back in 2007 when Michelle Solomon, a Fanshawe student who suffered from mental illness decided to seek peer support as part offer own recovery.
