Develops and enforces minimum standards of employment under the Employment Standards Act including minimum wage, overtime pay, vacation pay, hours of work, paid public holidays, entitlement to pregnancy leave, parental leave and medical leave, equal pay for equal work, notice of termination of employment, severance pay and collection of unpaid wages due Investigates complaints * provides information to employers and employees * issues permits and approvals authorizing hours of work in excess of the statutory limitations Public Holidays - Employees are entitled to nine public holidays with pay: New Year's Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day Minimum Wage $11.25 General $12.40 Homeworker $10.55 Students under 18 years $9.80 Liquor servers $112.60 Hunting/fishing guides (day, 5 hours+) $56.30 Hunting/fishing guides (less than 5 hours) |
