Service Description: Emergency short-term shelter, housing, counselling and support to abused women and their children

Public Education - Presentations on abuse and women's issues to service clubs, church and school groups, community service agencies, associations and information fairs
 
24 Hour Abused Women's Helpline and Walk-In Crisis Support - Support, information and referrals * also serves adult males by telephone seeking advice for their women friends
 
Clarke Road Shelter - Emergency shelter for abused women and their children
 
Community Group Program for Children and Their Moms - Group program for children provides the opportunity for children to understand the abuse the happened in their family * groups held in safe, accessible locations * includes transportation and healthy snacks * moms also have the opportunity to learn how to support their children's healing
 
Counselling and Support Centre - Counsellors onsite * provide support and information for questions relating to woman abuse and the impact it may be having on a person's life * risk assessment and safety planning available * anonymous
 
Family Court Support Worker Program - Direct support for victims of domestic violence who are involved in the family court process * provides information about, and helps victims prepare for, family court proceedings, refers victims to specialized community services and supports, helps with safety planning, and accompanies victims to court, where appropriate
 
Mine101 - Low-cost clothing and accessories shop * thrift store items * social enterprise of the Women's Community House * donations accepted at the Women's Community House Shelter, 101 Wellington Rd
 
Second Stage Housing - Safe rent-geared-to-income housing for women and their children for up to one year * transitional outreach program * 25 self-contained apartments available for women and their children
 
Transitional Outreach Program - Trained staff counsellors provide ongoing support to women entering into or leaving shelter and Second Stage Housing and to those in the community who are in need of support related to abuse in their lives
 
Wellington Road Shelter - Emergency short-term shelter for abused women and their children
Fees: Free for shelter * rent geared to income for Second Stage Housing
